Beritabali.com, Karangasem. Bebandem Karangasem has unique holy springs called Telaga Tista. It is located in Abiantiing, Jungutan Village, Bebandem, Karangasem. This place has a function as a place for watering Ida Batara Istri Pura Panti, Puseh Temple and Bangkak Temple, and purification of Ida Bhatara in all Temples around Tista Lake.

This place also can be a local tourist destination. Others, also using this place as a series of Balinese ritual, such as "Metatah".

"The holy water springs from Telaga Tista never dry up despite the dry season and can still flow thousands hectares of rice fields in seven subak and also for the water needs in the seven villages, there are Macang, Bungaya, Asak, Perasi, Timbrah, Bugbug and Tenganan," said Kelian Desa Sibetan I Wayan Subadra (75).

In the area of --Telaga Tista there is also a temple called Pura Telaga Tista. This temple holds a ceremony every year and every 10 years. The ceremony that's held every year called Usaba Ketipat. And, for the ceremony that held every 10 years, called Ngusaba Ketipat Agung.

During the ceremony, the seven indigenous villages that use water from Telaga Tista come to this place and do worship.

Meanwhile, for travelers, Telaga Tista has some rules that should not be violated. One of it is forbidden to consume beef before coming to Telaga Tista. However, for visitors who already already consume must do self-purification before entering the area of Tista --Lake. [wrt]
